The Firm is always looking to add dedicated and bright attorneys to its practice, especially those with experience or a special interest in energy law. The firm hires law students as law clerks primarily in the summer. As a smaller firm, we have no formal program but, rather, attempt to integrate law students into the practice as though they were associates.
Those interested in learning more about the firm should contact John P. Gregg, Managing Principal, through the U.S. mail (no phone calls please).
The Firm's Practice
Our practice has traditionally involved a substantial amount of administrative litigation. Wholesale rates for natural gas and electric transmission are established through litigation at the FERC. However, as deregulation of the energy industry progresses, we have become increasingly involved in "transactional" activities on behalf of our clients. We advise our clients regarding how to cope with the dramatic changes wrought by deregulation, including the purchase and sale of deregulated energy commodities. The work is interesting, challenging, and demanding. The firm is not a "sweat shop" and does not have that mentality, but long hours are often necessary, particularly during peaks of activity in litigation of a case.
